We Love lucy <3

I’m not talking about the fiery comedic redhead, I’m talking about the fitness apparel brand supporting National Yoga Month. lucy is a Diamond Sponsor for Yoga Month, and makers of some of the best workout gear we’ve worn.

Recently I was lucky enough to try the new lucy Hatha Power Pant.
This pant is all about performance, with the moisture management and slight compression of lucy powermax™, anti-chafe flat-locked seams you can’t feel against your skin, and a cool max gusset. At first the fabric seems heavy, but if you wear the pants through a workout you’ll find them cool and omfortable.

You’ll also love the fit: a slightly low-rise bootcut with a double waistband that helps tuck in your tummy and contains a hidden pocket. (Yes, in the waistband, about the size of a cell phone.) The colors are black, black with hot pink trim, or navy with aqua trim. They are available in short, regular and tall lengths, XS – XL sizes. (Hint, I’m 5’4 and that is right between the short and regular. If you like your pants long, order a regular.)

An early tester of the pant was yogi Seane Corn. She says, “They wash really well. They don’t ride up or gather around the ankle… those are the things I look for in a pant.”

Our graphic designer also tried a pair, and you can read what has to say about the lucy Hatha Power Pant here: http://runningbetty.com/karate-basics

If you love the feel of this soft pant and the great curve it gives your butt, but don’t like any of the 3 available lengths, a Hatha Power capri is also available.

A percentage of Hatha Power Pant sales in Sept went to Offthematintotheworld.org, coFounded by Seane Corn. Off the Mat bridges the gap between Hatha Yoga (postures you physically do) and Karma Yoga (selfless service).

Here’s a Yoga Tip for the Day from our friend Lora Hogan:

“Namaste.” Even if you’ve never taken a single yoga class in your life, you’ve most likely heard the greeting “Namaste”.

What does it mean? Roughly translated, “Namaste” means “The divine in me salutes the divine in you.”

We are all connected—every single individual on this planet. Try saying a silent Namaste (in your head!) before you speak to someone. Take a moment to realize that everyone is special. Make eye contact before beginning a conversation with a friend, co-worker, barista. This brief, silent “Namaste” may just change your attitude towards life. The world does not revolve solely around you. Widen your eyes, widen your heart, and recognize that each and every person is special in his or her own way. And then proceed with your planned conversation. And notice what a difference it may make…

Lora Hogan can be reached at lora.yoga at gmail.com and teaches throughout St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa, Florida. She is certified through Yoga Works.
