Passport to Prana

Passport to Prana is a yoga membership card. First, you city needs to participate. Then different yoga studios or classes can sign up, and authorized retailers in the area will become available. The card entitles you to one class at each of the participating yoga studios until the expiration date specified for your city. You can confirm your city’s participation and dates – and purchase your $30 card – at www.passporttoprana.com, from a participating yoga studio, or from an authorized retailer listed on their website. Then, check your desired class time online and show your Passport to Prana card at a studio. The studio will do the rest. You should see your studio attendance reflected on our website within a week of attending the class.

The Passport to Prana website also has useful information about the participating studios: including maps, contact information and class schedules. You must sign into your account using your six-digit card number and the password you chose when activating your card.

Let your opinion be heard!

You can expect to see a studio survey in your email in-box after you attend a class with the Passport to Prana. Complete the survey and you’ll be entered into our Have Your Say & Win Contest.

THE GIFT OF YOGA

While there is a limit of one Passport to Prana per person per city per promotional year, you are welcome to purchase as many Passports as you like for your friends, family, employees and co-workers. And for the cost of roughly 3 yoga classes you can get your asanas on for a whole month!

A day of health

I haven’t tried the Passport to Prana because it is not available in Tampa Bay. But this weekend we have something bigger and better going on – a whole day of health and wellness! Saturday, Sept. 25 is Energize Tampa Bay! This day-long event takes place in downtown St. Petersburg inside the PUSH nightclub space and includes yoga classes & lectures, a Zumba bash, kids concerts, info from local health-related businesses and much more! All proceeds will benefit Tampa Bay Watch, a non-profit helping to keep our waters beautiful. (No oil in the area! Tampa Bay is beautiful and still HOT this time of year.) I’m looking forward to spending the day leraning yoga from different teachers with different styles so I can see which local studio I jive with best. And my neice will be volunteering all day to help out with the kids’ classes. She used to be a HUGE fan of childrens entertainer Shana Banana when she was little – even had her BananaYoga video and learned some poses from it – and now that she is older she can actually help at her show.
So, if you are near the Tampa Bay area this weekend, check out energizetampabay.com.
And if you have a preschool-age 7 child at home, check out the funny music of Shana Banana.
And if neither applies to you, just go to yogajournal.com and learn a new pose today!
