Readers who have been around a while will remember my review of the Ginch Gonch bull rider sports brief a little over a year ago. I’ve come to realize that I’m biased toward boxer briefs in my reviews so I thought I’d give a Ginch Gonch brief a try.
The Look: 8 out of 10. Ginch Gonch always brings fun patterns to the game and the Feathers of Fire brief is no exception. I’ve always liked their patterns partially because it reminds me of wearing underoos as a kid. I could put on my Green Lantern underoos and become a superhero for the evening. With Ginch Gonch, it’s pretty much the same way. If not a superhero, then at least a walking sexual innuendo. The Feathers of Fire brief features a red and orange eagle somewhat angrily emerging from the crotch. The waistband is decked out in orange, while the thighs are trimmed in light blue – matching the trademark Ginch Gonch script on the waistband.
The Fit: 7 out of 10. The fit is quite snug and pretty standard for a brief. There’s no pouch for the “package”, so these briefs tend to streamline and perhaps even minimize any bulge in the crotch.
The Feel: 8 out of 10. This Ginch Gonch brief is pretty comfortable. In fact, I think I like it better than the Ginch Gonch boxer brief. The more I’ve worn the boxer brief, the more the seams seem to itch. I haven’t experienced that problem with this brief. It’s smooth and soft on the outside and the inside.
Overall: 7 out of 10. Overall, I like the Feathers of Fire brief. The pattern isn’t necessarily what I’d choose in a store, but that’s really a matter of personal preference. There’s no doubt that this brief is vivid and colorful. So, if you like the angry eagle, then you certainly won’t be disappointed. The feel is certainly good enough to convince me to try more briefs in the coming months, and I’ll be sure to review those too.
