At first glance, one might easily think that shapewear with a thong cut is a contradiction.  After all, the whole point of all that material in the traditional shaper panty is to hold everything in, right?  If you just remove the material, won’t the shapewear be ineffective?

Sometimes.

Although it may be surprising for some men to hear, not every woman is concerned with the way her butt looks.  She may wish to use a high waisted panty or other shapewear to smooth her tummy without the need to shape her “cheeks”.  In many cases, this isn’t a big deal.  Most would settle for a little shaping in the rear even if they are hard as a rock.

On the other hand, shapewear is meant to enhance the wardrobe, not reduce it.  So, what if you want to smooth the tummy and wear something tight on your lower half?  Maybe you’ve grown accustomed to wearing thongs and feel uncomfortable in anything else.  That’s where the thong shapewear comes in.

We’ll admit that most thong shapewear looks a little funny, but let’s remember that shapewear is about function over fashion.  For great tummy control without the panty line, a great option is the TC-Fine Wonderful Edge High Waist thong (left).  It’s a high waisted stretch nylon panty that offers moderate control, but the rear abrubtly narrows at the waist into a thong back.  Silicone along the buttocks (the wonderful edge) prevents the thong from riding up and giving you a supersonic wedgie.
