Calvin Klein Steel

The new Calvin Klein steel collection for men is officially described as “edgy”, “bold” and “masculine”. The epic next generation of men’s underwear.
When I first saw the steel collection, I was a little annoyed by it. To me, part of what is cool about having a designer label on the waistband of your underwear is that it shows you’re a guy who has some style. You put some thought into your undergarments instead of digging for a twelve pack of tightie whities in the clearance bin of the local K-mart. It begs the onlooker to come closer to see if it is the genuine article.
Some of the subtlety is lost in the new steel collection. The wide waistband no longer gently beckons. It boldly screams to the world,
“Yes, I’m wearing Calvin Klein. Come get a piece of this!”
That bothered me at first, but even as I wrote an incendiary post condemning the Steel collection, I found myself wanting to buy a pair. After all, why hide the fact that you’ve got style? I don’t know if it’s the epic next generation of men’s underwear, but the “Steel” look is pretty cool.
The steel collection includes microfiber boxer briefs (shown above), low rise trunks and hip briefs, as well as cotton boxer briefs, low rise trunks, hip briefs and thongs.
Microfiber styles come in black and white. Cotton styles come in black, white and grey heather. Every style features a wide waistband with the bold metallic silver Calvin Klein logo.
