Authentic. Original. Ethical. – Inkkas Shoes

Inkkas is a socially conscious, fair-trade footwear company established in 2012,  that sells handmade shoes crafted from South American textiles.  Every Pair of Shoes is Custom-made by Local Artisans in Peru from Authentic South American Textiles. Inkkas’ styles, colors, and designs are distinctly unique and guaranteed to attract attention. The line includes Aztec, diamond, striped, tribal and zigzag prints in high top and sneaker styles for men, women and kids. Every pair retails for under $100, and a portion of each sale goes to help preserve and protect the Amazon rainforest and its’ native inhabitants.

Now you can help! INKKAS Launched a Kickstarter Campaign to bring their new line of Handcrafted Shoes from South America to YOU!

Make your contribution here.

Inkkas are custom-made using only high-quality authentic South American textiles (“mantas”) and handcrafted in a family-owned workshop in Lima, Peru. Shoes are cut, sewn and stitched by hand, and feature a soft inner lining and vacuum sealed sole construction. The Kickstarter campaign will help bring the unique fall line to the U.S. market. Fabrics are sourced directly from local artisans in Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. Those who contribute to the Kickstarter campaign will receive discounts of up to 25% off the current price of the shoes, and will receive their orders before the new line is available to the general public.

Kickstarter pledges start at $55 for the Inkkas Classic Low Tops and $60 for the Inkkas Classic High Tops.  Additional pledge levels include $1,000 for 13 pairs of shoes and $10,000 for the Inkkas Gold Package, which includes an all-expenses paid trip to Peru to visit the Inkkas headquarters and factory,  excursion to Machu Picchu and styles from the 2014 collection! Every dollar helps, and you can pledge a lesser amount – you just won’t receive shoes.

A portion of all proceeds are donated to local South American communities to help protect the Amazon rainforest and its’ native inhabitants.  With the vast majority of shoes on the market being mass-produced in factories overseas, Inkkas delivers a quality product that is handmade for each individual order.  The quality craftsmanship means that the shoes will last longer and be a great fit. Everything from the fabric, the laces, tags, labels, threads and soles, are all produced in South America. When you buy an Inkkas product, you are supporting real communities and artisans all over South America.

“At Inkkas, we’re sharing the beauty of South American textiles with the world. We’ve come to the Kickstarter community to ask for help in an effort to grow our company and launch a new collection, while at the same time maintaining our integrity as an independent company,” said Dan Ben-Nun, founder of Inkkas. “We believe it’s vital to remain independent from large investors and capital firms who may require us to change our approach to responsible production in exchange for finance.  Our goal is to create the most beautiful and comfortable shoes in the world while maintaining our personal connection to the great people of South America.”

Inkkas has had amazing success with its Originals collection and the Kickstarter campaign will help the brand branch out with even more appealing colors and styles.  Contributors will be the first in the world to receive the new collection and have access to Inkkas Limited Edition Kickstarter colorway, which was exclusively made for the campaign.

The project will only be funded if at least $20,000 is pledged by Thursday Dec 19, 12:03am EST. Over $15,200 has already been pledged.
