Caring For Your Lingerie
© 2007 Intimate Guide

All bras should be washed with delicate soap specially formulated for lingerie - or (hint!) baby shampoo - in cold water.
Soak each bra for a bit, then gently hand wash for the best treatment that will help your items last. Squeeze the water out - never wring undergarments - and lay flat or hang to dry. When drying, keep out of direct heat or sunlight. (Remember, we’re talking about bras here. Panties should go in the dryer to allow the heat to kill germs.)

The frequency with which you launder your brassiere is a personal decision, but keep in mind that body oils, sweat, lotion and perfume along with body heat, break down and stretch out elastic and spandex. Wearing the same bra 2 days in a row has a negative effect on elastic as well. A nice soak in cool water with gentle soap will lengthen the life of your bras and shock the fabric back into its original shape.

Last but not least, remember that bras do wear out over time and need to be replaced. Saying goodbye to an old friend can be bitter-sweet as you get to replace it with a new expression of your femininity.

If you take good care of your bras, they will take great care of you!
