Sexy Period Panties
Sometimes I fall in love with a brand. When a product has all the right little touches: cute logo, nice packaging, great tagline, feels good, looks great, fits as expected, washes well… I just might fall in love.
And then if it has a good STORY behind it, that’s like the icing on the cake.
Enter Sexy Period…
How it Started
Brown University has a class called Entrepreneurship and New Ventures. 2 classmates, Julie Sygiel and Eunice Png were in this class, and their research showed that 60% of women experience leaks during their period at least once every month. They connected with a textile expert, and started designing the best period panty possible. Julie is now running the company full time out of Providence, RI. This year, Sexy Period was featured in the Accessory Showcase at Style Week Providence.
What they are
Sexy Period is a line of leak-resistant panties you wear as backup to your typical menstrual products to keep you safe from fashion disasters. They contain an interior, leak-resistant lining. The styles include Friday Night Fabulous, with a lace waistband; Blossoming Beauty, with a watercolor floral print waistband; and Simply Stunning, perfect for a morning run or yoga class in solid, deep plum purple. All 3 styles come in 3 cuts: bikini, hipster and cheeky, in sizes XS-XL
What they are not
These are not diapers or pads. They are not granny panties and baggy or ugly. They are not disposable.
How they work
They are made from 3 layers of thin, breathable, soft, stretchy material that absorb and wick away fluids. The outermost layer traps fluids and protects from spills. After women researchers tested 40 different fabric combinations, and 200 volunteers wore prototypes, you know these will do the job!
Why I LOVE them
- The styles
- The colors
- Cute taglines (“If Leak Resistance and Friday Night had a baby, we’d be it.” and “Don’t cramp your style” – ha!)
- Unconditional Guarantee
- Pretty marketing materials
- Soft fabric
- Comfy Waistbands
- Stain-proof colors
- No side seams
- I usually get leaks, but did NOT with these and felt much more confident in them
I put my test pair on and without telling Jeff the function behind them I just asked if he thought they were cute. He said, “Not just cute, but sexy.” I asked if he could tell they were padded lightly to avoid period leaks. He said no. I let him give them a little pat, and asked if they’d weird him out, and he said they don’t feel much different than regular panties (on me).
When my daughter started her period and was worried about leaks, I told her EVERY woman has that embarrassing leak story they wish never happened. With Sexy Period panties on your side, you can wipe the slate clean!

I have tried this brand called Adira and they are really nice too.
One big advantage I found adira to have over sexyperiod is that it takes care of even the inner thigh staining and its keeps the sanitary napkin in place
No doubt !! wearing period panties keeps you more comfortable compare to your regular ones.
I bought a pair of adira period panties, that keeps sanitary napkin from buckling & shifting. And the best part is that they are so comfortable to wear.
