National Underwear Day

If you aren’t already an avid fan of National Underwear Day, I’ll bet that when you have those little contemplative moments in the shower or on the toilet, you’ve thought to yourself,
“Gee, why isn’t there a National Underwear Day?”
After all, there’s Veteran’s Day and Columbus Day and Labor Day. Why not Underwear Day? When you think about it, Veteran’s Day celebrates those brave souls who have ably defended our country. Columbus Day celebrates the man who discovered this land that we now call home. Labor Day celebrates the workers upon whom the backbone of our economy is built. What’s the common thread here? Underwear, of course.
Okay, Columbus is debatable. Statistics show, however, that the vast majority of our esteemed military personnel and our labor backbone wear underwear everyday. Why not celebrate this essential and often overlooked part of our wardobe? We already do! If you didn’t know already, August 7th is National Underwear Day. Like most great holidays, National Underwear Day was invented by a company trying to sell something. In this case, it was Freshpair.com. Check out the video:
What will you do for National Underwear Day? I’m going to wear my favorite pair of Nautica boxer briefs. Remember, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and nobody goes commando on National Underwear Day.
