Got HOTmilk?

I think pregnant women have it so easy today. Perhaps I am kidding myself.  But way back when I was pregnant and needed new clothes – desperately – like every 4 weeks, maternity clothes were NOT cute, were not at the GAP or Target. They were ugly AND expensive. And made you look like a librarian with a watermelon up her dress.

Fast forward to TODAY. Thank you Lord for HOTmilk!

HOTmilk celebrates the sexy woman inside the loving mother. This New Zealand based lingerie company specializes in sexy maternity and nursing lingerie. Co-Owner Lisa Ebbing, a mother of three children under the age of five, says: “After a lifetime of wearing beautiful lingerie, I was shocked to find so few options for expectant moms. I believe that other women will also appreciate a product that makes them feel special and feminine during this life-changing time.”

If you have to go out and buy new bras and panties to fit your new body, you might as well love them and feel good about your luscious curves in them. Be beautiful and confident under there!

Their bras have no underwire. They say this can restrict the growth and changes in breast size and shape during pregnancy and restrict milk flow during breast feeding. Instead the bras are enhanced with seaming to help lift and shape. This seam construction also ensures no rubbing or chafing. Soft, cotton linings ensure comfort and absorb moisture. Clips at the top of nursing bras can easily be undone-and redone with one hand. My 12 year old daughter was impressed to see that for the first time!

Strong fabric in the back of the bras and wider straps help with support. Extra hooks in back – 6 columns instead of the typical 3 – allow for you to adjust the size as your bust & diaphragm expand and contract.

maternity lingerieNot to mention the fabrics, bows, lace, flowers and beautiful matching panties to complete each set with femininity and grace.

I love that HOTmilk tests their maternity bras on pregnant and nursing women before a new style enters the market.

Here’s a tip for pregnant women form HOTmilk: you should be able to slide your hand into the top of the cup of your bra to know there is room available for expansion.

HOTmilk also has  a line of pretty camis and nightwear with nursing clips, cotton lining and shelf support.

The set I tried was She Blushes in Delight. (I’m not pregnant, but it’s so pretty that you don’t have to be!) Blush pink rose embroidered mesh combined with cream lace and a scattering of gorgeous rosettes decorate the bra and panties. The french knicker and bikini both offer a charming lace frill and have rear rouching.

HOTmilk sizes range vary from 30A to 42G for bras, and bottoms are available in an array of sizes from S – XXL. Average price points are between $55 – $59 for bras, approximately $25 for matching bottoms, and $35 to $70 for sleepwear pieces. Watch a HOTmilk funny striptease ad here.

Knickers for Africa

knickersforafricaHOTmilk recently had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of thousands of women who were in need of a different kind of help. Ex-pat Zimbabwean, Morag Roy, spoke with a local priest in Zimbabwe on one of her trips to her home country and was dismayed to hear of the ongoing sexual abuse suffered by thousands of women and young girls there, particularly in the villages. When the priest explained that by simply owning and wearing a set of lingerie the perceived status of women is elevated, Morag, was determined to do what she could. And so was HOTmilk!

Over 6500 sets of brand new HOTmilk Lingerie were sent out, along with tens of thousands more they gathered for the cause. Morag has happy news to pass on: “Distributing the bras and knickers has been a very enjoyable task. We are really grateful to everyone around the world who put in such an amazing effort to make these donations possible.” She was there to make sure the boxes of lingerie cleared customs and got to the people in the villages that needed them most.
