Sweet Temptation Baby Doll Set

Today’s Guest Post is by Jen of 2% Butterscotch Ripple. She received lingerie items complements of the mother-daughter team that owns About Curves, a plus size lingerie web site.

Plus Size Babydoll lingerieFirst of all I’d like to thank the person who chose the color combo for About Curves’ Sweet Temptation Baby Doll Set. The dark chocolate brown with the turquoise is just too pretty. I love seeing fun lingerie in other colors besides black and red. And lingerie meant for fun this is!

About Curves individually wraps all their pieces in tissue paper for shipping, and from the moment I opened this one I was in love! This babydoll set is flirty, sexy, trendy and best of all, it looks great on.

Look on the Hanger: This set is one of About Curves’ top 8 best selling items and from my guess it is the color combination that sets it apart from the others. The look of the bright teal contrasted on the dark brown is stunning. On 2 of the 3 on-line model photos, it appeared as if there was some built-in support and that it showed off cleavage in a great way. This was one of my favorite picks when browsing the web site and I was confirmed of it’s “va-va-voom” factor when I asked for my husband’s opinion and he picked this one first.

The Fit & Feel: The Sweet Temptation Baby Doll is just fun and flirty! It is created with the curvy girl in mind, slightly longer in the front, extra fabric in the bodice for fit and coverage and adjustable straps to help with support. There is no built in shelf bra, so support is up to the straps which are delicate. I think that in keeping with the “flirty” theme, this baby doll wasn’t meant as sleepwear so the straps don’t need to be bulky, just beautiful. Beautiful they are, with brown ruffled fabric under teal embroidered trim. The teal trim also matches the fully lined lace over the bodice and the ribbon rose and trim on the bottom two swing-out layers.

my favorite pantyThe set does also come with a matching thong. The website describes this as “a cotton-lined, chiffon, G-String thong”. “G-String” and “thong” are two words that personally I am not a fan of. I know… I know… I may be the last living woman who doesn’t care for a thong, but sorry, girls, I just don’t. For those of you who do, this babydoll has a matching one. If you are like me, then you can find a matching pair of panties in your stash! Or you now have an excuse to shop! At right is a basic brown brief from Vanity Fair that would match with a cute hip cut-out.

I have to say that this baby doll looked just as good on at home as it did on the models on the web site.

Downside: This baby doll has nothing to support your cleavage, so if you don’t fill the top up completely, then the sides gap a bit. A tug down the back fixes it, but a strapless bra underneath would do a better job of pushing and holding up-which is what I suspect two of the three on-line models were wearing.

Overall Rating: 9/10, mostly because I just adore the colors!
