Masquerade Regency Bra and Panty Set

Masquerade Regency SetThis evening, I’m attending one of those black tie type affairs where everyone shows up looking all fancy, ends up drinking a little too much and spends more than they probably should have on auction items that benefit some worthy cause. It’s not the type of thing I do often, but it’s always fun to see some very wealthy people wearing very expensive clothing and then messing the whole thing up by wearing the wrong undergarment. A few years ago, one woman was wearing a backless dress and a good four inches of her shapewear was sticking out above her waistline. In any case, being at such an event live and in person always primes us up for our Oscar party.

When you’re attending such an event, your first priority with regard to your underwear is to make sure it’s the right style for your outerwear. That is, the fit has to be correct for the outfit you’re wearing. Like many Hollywood starlets, you might need to make use of shapewear, sacrificing the underneath look for a brilliant outer look that everyone will see. If that’s not the case, then it can often be fun to “dress up” underneath. It’s in that spirit (now that I’ve set a record for longest Frilly Friday Introduction) that we today present the Masquerade Regency set.

This Regency set is composed of a balconette bra and a thong panty. The bra is constructed with seamed, underwire molded cups that are lightly padded. The demi style cups provide coverage for the lower half of the breasts, displaying an elegant amount of cleavage. The black and silver pattern is reminiscent of Hollywood in the roaring 20′s….you know, when the “talkies” began to sing. The satin thong provides minimal coverage in the rear and a modest 7 inch rise at the waist. The elastic waistband is elegantly decorated with lace trim and a bow sits perched just below the naval.

The Masquerade Regency set is elegant in its simplicity. It’s perfect for a night out, or just a standard Frilly Friday indoors. You can wear it while hanging out on the couch sipping a martini and watching “Singin’ in the Rain”.
