Mary Green Spring Chemise(s)

Last week, I received a desperate plea from one of our readers:

Dear Jeff,

I’ve had enough. I’m sick of all this romantic Valentine’s Day stuff. I’m sick of dark evenings and cold weather. I don’t have a man in my life and I don’t really want one right now. Spring is on the way and I’m looking forward to warm sun and gentle breezes. I want to spend lazy weekends with the windows open and the natural sounds of the world seeping in. Show me something light and airy. I want something that will make me look and feel sexy just for me. I don’t mean to sound depressed (or angry with you). I’m really not, but something “springy” in the near future would be fantastic. Thanks!

I’m sure Liz is not alone, so I picked out two “springy” chemises from Mary Green for this week’s Frilly Friday. The first is the Mary Green Satin Doll Chemise (left). Although it is white and black, rather than the traditional spring pastels or floral prints, this chemise has a light, airy aura about it. Made primarily from silk, this chemise features semi-sheer lace cups and lace trim at the hem (I’m a poet and didn’t even know it). Its satin spaghetti straps are slightly adjustable to change the overall length of the chemise from 29″ to 31″. The satin doll collection also features a camisole. It’s the chemise’s shorter sister and it lacks the lace at the hem.

For a more natural feel, the Mary Green Jane chemise (right) may just have you feeling like Maureen O’Sullivan in her classic role as Jane of the Jungle. If that’s a little too nostalgic for you, then know that this 70% silk animal print chemise simply rocks. It’s a satin finish over a semi-sheer chiffon shadow pattern (just try to say that ten times fast). The edges feature wide bands of sparkling lace and the straps adjust for an overall length between 28″ and 32″.
