Recently, we’ve heard from fuller figured women decrying the fact that there are so few pretty things for them.

“Our bras,” they complain, “are industrial strength. They look like something you’d wear into combat.”

Past Frilly Fridays have certainly been guilty of presenting collections that are not available in full figure sizes. There’s no doubt that the options for full figured ladies are less varied than those of their petite friends. Well, ladies, we hear your cries. The Freya Arabella collection is just for you!

I’m a pretty big fan of the sheer mesh look that provides the foundation of the Arabella collection. The patterns are classy and compliment the natural (or unnatural - as the case may be) curves of fuller figured women quite nicely. The Freya Arabella collection consists of a plunge bra, a brief and a G-string.

The Arabella plunge bra (above) is quite obviously unlined. There’s no hiding your nipples in these underwire cups. The band and the cups are both made of sheer mesh. A pretty satin bow decorates the center gore and the strap attachments. While it is a plunge bra, it’s not necessarily the most practical thing to wear under a deep v-neck sweater or shirt. The plunge is not the deepest out there, and the bows are likely to show. Still, you should be okay if your over garment is fairly loose fitting and the neckline doesn’t dip too low. This bra is supportive, but the fabric is very sheer and very thin. It is Frilly Friday, after all. The Freya Arabella plunge bra is available in sizes from 32C to 38J.

The Arabella brief (left) is very sexy. The sides are made of a striped, sheer mesh microfiber. The center is solid and opaque. A satin bow decorates the center of the waistband. The brief is low rise, high cut and gives moderate coverage in the rear. It is available from extra small to extra large.

If you’re feeling a little more playful, the Arabella G-string is for you. The front panel is sheer mesh with a striped detail. The rest of the G-string is elegant thin lace. The G-string is also avaiable in sizes from extra small to extra large.

Overall, the Freya Arabella collection is the classic, pretty lingerie that fuller figured women have been asking for. Though we’d like to see larger band sizes, the set is certainly catered to women with a full bust line. This is, however, only our first foray into the realm of pretty and large lingerie.
