Lingerie manufacturer Triumph (also makers of Sloggi underwear) keeps their Japanese-market advertising light and fun with “unique bra” designs, each tied in with a newsworthy, current “cause”. Often presented for exposure at at expos, the humorous line includes:

1) The Warmbiz Heated Bra - help stop global warming and keep your electric bills low with this furry set. Includes microwavable gel pad inserts to heat things up and reduce energy consumption! The central gore between the cups of the bra has a sensor to let you know when the indoor temperature is 20 degrees Celsius or over, and will let you know with a flashing light and buzzer!

2) The Increase Voter Turnout Bra - You’ll definitely see more people turn out to vote if their ballot box is this flashy silver bra! The top is labeled “ballot box” while the matching skirt is made from Yupo paper ballots and holds spare pencils. Maybe you can store your #2s for the SATs in these…

3) The No bags! bra - to reduce waste and stop overuse of those horrible plastic shopping bags, wear this bra that converts into your own handy grocery tote. Available in red, blue, green, pink and yellow. See instructions below.

4) The No Smoking bra - According to Triumph’s marketing squad, this bra “emits a mysterious scent designed to kill the desire to smoke.” While I’m not sure what that might be, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t belong on my breasts.

5) My Chopsticks Bra - keep a spare set of utensils handy at all times with this bra! Collapsible, reusable chopsticks in your bra band might keep you from using disposable wooden chopsticks that put undo pressure on our ecosystem. Straps are removable and recycled paper is used in the making of this bra. (FYI - the rice is fake.)

6) Birth Rate Decline Bra - This ensemble depicts granny with her happy grandchildren, reminding you to get out there and get busy before the population drops! Let them all know your childbearing days are here by wearing this red halter (which is a Japanese reminder of marriage) with floating storks. The panty says “Stop the declining birthrate.” To lull you into the bedroom, the bra cups contain lavender potpourri.

8) Peanuts 55th Anniversary set - Look closely for images of your favorite Beagle on this bra and panty set! Snoopy motif lace plunge bra, string panty and garter belt available for lucky women in Japan with a scattered sparkling rhinestone design.

9) The postal privatization bill bra - Should the post office be privately held? Show your support for the bill with this ensemble. Slits in the cups of this red bra hold small love notes. Although it looks like a bustier, the set actually includes a stetchy torso belt separate from the bra, and boyshorts with cute double strings at the waistband.
