Product Review - DKNY Sensual Curves Push-up Bra

DKNY black lace push up braWhen I went to get “Fit for a Cure” last month, one of the prettiest & best fitting bras I tried on was the DKNY Sensual Curves Push-up Bra. I thought it was sexy they moment I saw it, and even after a whole day of trying on bras, I walked away thinking it was a great fit.

For a while the black and nude color combo was sold out and only the light pink was available. I liked the black so much more that I waited for it, bought it, and I am here to review it for you today. There is a fuscia online too, but I have not seen it yet in person.

Why do I love this bra?

The Look on the hanger: 10/10. The bra is sexy but not floozy. It is grown up and pretty and flirty and sensual - as the name implies. The extra attention to detail in the craftsmanship keeps it from looking “cheap”. dkny pink lace braAs you can see in the photo, there are a few different fabrics used, and it is mostly black and lacy, with some nude and some point d’ esprit (or swiss dotted) design on the cups. As I said, it comes in black, fuscia (forbidden apple) or light pink (shown at right).

The Fit: 9/10. It is a push-up underwire with lightly padded contour demi cups. Translation: There is foamy padding inside to create a soft shape and direct your breasts toward the center to create added cleavage. It is not enough padding to add a cup size, but it is enough to create a great, sexy shape. The cups do not provide full breast coverage, they are cut at an angle to add to the presence of cleavage. The scalloped lace trim along the bustline draws even more attention to the center. Luckily DKNY made the center gore of non-stretch fabric to provide additional support. This means that when you sit or bend over the fabric in the center between your breasts does not wrinkle or bunch up.

Because it is decorative, it shows slightly under tight, stretchy clothes - like my t-shirts. It does not show under slightly heavier clothes, like my stretchy sweaters. The straps are narrow, which I happen to like, but I know not everyone does. The straps stay in place and my breasts stay in place. Best of all, the underwire never pokes into me!

I often vary between a C and D cup. The 34C in this bra fit great. When I am PMS’ed and my breasts are a bit larger, I need the D. Or I can just deal with the extra cleavage, and Jeff doesn’t mind. This bra is available in sizes 32-36 A-D.

When reading the fabric content, I noted the cups are 35% Spandex but the lace in back is 16% Spandex. This is important because it is the band around your back that provides most of your bra support, and they lowered the spandex content here so it will not stretch out quickly. Thus you get continued support after many wearings.

The Feel: 10/10. This bra is comfortable, moves with me, and the wire does not dig into me. The lace is soft and stretchy, not itchy. The swiss dotted fabric overlaying the nude cups looks like it would be scratchy, but it’s not. The inside of the cups is fully lined with black stretchy fabric. I can’t feel the tag in back.

Overall: 9/10. I like to wear this bra to feel sexy, with black clothes, or just because. I took off one point because the diagonal line between the lace and swiss dots does show under some clothes. I love that it sells for under $40.

DKNY black lace thongThe bra also has a matching low rise tanga thong panty. I have not tried it yet, but reckon I should! I like how they echoed the lace on the front of the panties and the dots in the small back panel. Sweet!
