Bra-ha-ha Virginia

This Sunday, Oct 4, Cosabella will be auctioning off its one of a kind “Angel of Hope” bra at Bra-ha-ha in Virginia.

The “angel of hope” bra was designed with the thought ‘never lose hope in the search for a cure’. The owners of Cosabella, like so many others, have been affected by the loss of loved ones with cancer and because of this; they are committed to helping raise funds to find a cure. The “angel of hope” bra was designed using Cosabella’s signature Soire push-up in fine Italian mesh, embellished with delicate white feathers, pink lily crystals and finished with Breast Cancer Awareness bow.

Bra-ha-ha is an event to promote women’s health and increase awareness of breast cancer. It serves as a reminder of the importance of mammograms, self-checks and early detection. Proceeds will benefit the Chesapeake Regional Breast Center.

Participants create artworks based on their thoughts and feelings about breast cancer, but these artists don’t paint on canvas, they decorate 36C under-wire bras! The results are humorous, heart warming and thought provoking.

Last year’s inaugural event featured 145 creatively decorated bras from artists throughout Hampton Roads. Entries were serious, whimsical, tongue-in-check, sentimental or downright funny. Because of the exhibit’s overwhelming success, organizers at Chesapeake Regional decided to move this year’s exhibit to a larger venue and schedule two weeks for the public to view the creations. Sponsors such as Max Media, Dillard’s, Barnes and Noble and California Pizza Kitchen joined in.

The exhibit will kick off with an opening night gala Sunday, Oct. 4 from 7-9 p.m. in Norfolk’s MacArthur Center’s Center Court. Entries will be judged by a panel of well-known personalities and the winning designer will receive a prize of $500.
